Red Horse Press opened in the fall of 2003, and was founded on the philosophy that artists should have affordable access to quality equipment, a supportive community from which to draw inspiration and share ideas, and a space to create prints in an attentive, relaxed environment. We are a small studio with a commitment to providing the highest quality learning and working experience. Red Horse Press is a low toxicity studio, using almost entirely non-toxic and eco-friendly materials, and is fully equipped for intaglio, relief, and monotype.
In addition to a limited number of memberships, and private lessons,
we publish editions and offer residencies to professional and emerging artists.
Residents are given one on one technical assistance and instruction as they are guided through the creative process. The entire studio is for their use only during the duration of the project. Cost is $150 per 8 hour day.
Members have access to the studio 25 hours per week and use of all studio equipment. Cost is $150 per month.
Private lessons are structured and paced to suit the needs of the individual, focusing on any or all printmaking techniques. Cost is $45 for each 2 hour session.
Ink, tarlatan, grounds, and all cleaning supplies are provided by the studio.
